Footless

Wearing: Forever 21 Beastie Boys shirt, J. Crew vest, Vintage Wrangler shorts

Sorry my feet were cut off in these pictures, another result of laziness. I love this striped vest, vests are my go-to item for summer because they're easy to layer, and you know how much I love layering. They're great just to throw over anything, I think I need to find some more!

Preppy Much

Wearing: Forever 21 striped shirt, BP Nordstrom skirt and belt, ALDO sandals, Forever 21 headwrap

I thought this outfit was so simple yet so cute, I love these sort of combinations; two totally different prints that compliment each other so nicely in a weird way. It also gives off a very preppy feel, hence the title. I find it kind of hard to pull of really great outfits in the summer because it's hot out and layering is not an option. In the fall and winter, I layer like crazy! I think layering makes an outfit what it is, for the most part.

Before and After: Fashion Design Art Skills

As you guys know I take classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology, I've completed three so far for three different majors. This summer I took a class called "Fashion Art for Fashion Designers"which basically taught the basics of fashion arts; how to draw a fashion figure, clothing, render basic fabrics, etc. And I can honestly say after three weeks in the class I have improved drastically! I have seen the most change in my skills from this class then my other two, mostly because this was an art class though. Just look at my before and after pictures! The first picture was from the very first day of class when my instructor told us to simply "draw a fashion figure". I am extremely embarrassed of this picture to say the least. Overall, I am going to miss going to class so much this summer, I truly enjoy them. Can't wait for fall!

*The pictures are in order from older to most recent (within the 3 weeks)

And the grunge starts here...

Wearing: Buffalo Exchange tee shirt, Forever 21 plaid shirt, Necessary Clothing leather shorts, Free People socks, Doc Martens, Buffalo Exchange necklace

So are you guys starting to feel the grunge? Haha I know I am. I've been starting to get into knee high socks lately, I have tons that I never wear, or scrunch them down to fit right above the height of a boot, which never really gets the full effect.By the way, sorry for the crappy outfit post, I was running late for class and didn't have time to get real shots! Have a lovely night!

Jeffrey Campbell Obsession

Sometimes I get obsessed with a certain item, style, brand, etc. Right now, I am kind of going through a whole grunge phase....hence the fact that I am dying for a pair of grungy flatform sneakers, preferably studded. While I was looking for a pair I realized all the pairs I loved were Jeffrey Campbell. When Lita's first came out I fell in love, now in my opinion they are a little too overrated, with every cheap'er' brand creating look-a-likes. Long story short, I am utterly obsessed with Jeffrey Campbell right now! So I went onto SoleStruck (because they have almost every shoe Jeffrey Campbell has every made for sale) and picked out a few I REALLY  liked, because I "kind of" liked half of the shoes on the site...
What do you think of the ones I picked out?
It's love at first site for me....

Skulls, Spikes, Bows n' Paisley

Wearing: Necessary Clothing button up, Forever 21 tie blouse, The Vintage Twin skirt, Urban Outfitter shoes, www.charmedbystacy.com spiked bracelet

What a weird mix? Skulls and bow ties in the same outfit? I happen to love it though. This skirt is yet another find at The Vintage Twin trunk show a few weeks ago, I really can't wait until their website launches!

Cape May'd

Hey everyone! Sorry I've been MIA the last few days, my family and I took a trip to Cape May for the weekend. Just a nice getaway. Since I've had FIT class the last couple weeks, this was the closest to a vacation that I could get for the time. By the way, my class is ending this Thursday. Be sure to look out for a post all about the class. My work before and after, and much more! For now, over this weekend I took some pictures with my camera. Just thought I'd post some. There is only one outfit post in this mix though with my sister and I (and my feet are cut off in the picture). But the shoes I'm wearing are my white huarache sandals from Urban Outfitters, you can find them in this post. In case you guys were wondering, these pictures were taken with a Nikon D5100. I got this camera for my birthday this past year and I couldn't be more happy with it. I'm not the best photographer but it's just a hobby of mine that I enjoy. Take in the Victorian homes, beautiful beaches and gummy worms!
