The Kitty Craze

And it all started with cat winged eyeliner and cat shaped sunglasses....

This year the whole kitty, cat trend really came about after the Charlotte Olympia flats took the fashion world by storm, they were featured on some of the most sought after blogs and on the feet of some of the most stylist celebrities (aka Alexa Chung). After that stores like Romwe, Asos, and even Nasty Gal took this phenomenon and plastered it on shirts, bodysuits, dresses, watches and of course flats for a cheaper alternative to the Charlotte Olympia flats. A different interpretation on the trend is taking the ears and sticking them on top of beanies, hats and headbands!

Of course, I'm jumping on this trend also by owning the silver Wild Cat loafers from Nasty Gal (shown below). Keep your eye out for them in OOTD's! >^..^<

How I Style Creepers

Recently for Christmas I receive a pair of creepers! I've been on and off about creepers for a while but in the moment I decided I wanted a pair. The pair I got were the black leather leopard printed ones, shown above.

Now, I consider my style to be the perfect mix of edgy and girly, there's really no name for it. So, when I wear creepers I make sure to pair them with pearls and lace since that screams girly. I like to balance my style to make sure it is not all over the place, at least I try. I know a lot of people don't define their style, and I wasn't able to for a while, but I think I can now, I don't know if that's a good or bad thing.

Anyway, draw some inspiration from these sets I put together, I'll be sure to be wearing outfits taken from these sets!

Happy Holidays

Wearing: American Apparel skirt / Forever 21 sweater & top / ALDO booties

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed some time with family and drank some hot cocoa. This was actually my Christmas eve outfit, going up a bit late. I wanted to keep the colors simple with black and white for the most part but I added some color like this mustard yellow and burgundy.  Enjoy the rest of the holiday season while it lasts!

The Day Before Christmas

Wearing: DIY vest / SheInside pants / H&M sweater

So many things I love about this outfit.. first, these pants are just perfection. I've been obsessed with the sports luxe look and these pants depict that trend perfectly. The leather patches is what really does it for me. Also, I found this DIY on VagabondYouth's youtube and I thought the idea was genius! All you need is safety pins and some left over fabric, no sewing involved! The safety pins give off such a 90's feel, I love it. For the back part of my vest I just used a flag from one of those "flags on a stand" from over the summer that were outside my house for the 4th of July. And I can't get away without talking about this sweater because it is soo fuzzy and cozy and by far one of my favorites! I hope everyone has a merry Christmas eve!

Camo and Leather Makes Everything Better

Wearing: American Apparel skirt / H&M top / Ruby&Jenna jacket / Dr. Marten shoes

I've been on the hunt for the perfect camo+leather jacket for the past few months and this baby was on sale for $35 so I couldn't pass it up, it looks amazing with the fur scarf. Even though most people are scared to put red and green together (hello Christmas!), I love the combo when done right, I usually go for burgundy with a dark green when playing with those two colors, the turnout is usually great. Another thing, I'm kinda praying that these circle skirts go on sale after Christmas because I just can't get enough of them!

Year in Review

As the year is coming to a close I thought it'd be appropriate to do  a "year in review" of the trends for fall/winter and spring/summer of 2012.

Here are the projects I haven't shown on here yet. Also my merchandising class and I went to a fur manufacturer today and obviously I had to buy something.... I went with this burgundy scarf/ hat (I'll wear it as a scarf though) The plus for you guys is that I'll have more time on my hands so more posts on this blog! Yay!

Doublin' Up

Wearing: Ralph Lauren shirt dress/ Free People socks/ Topshop boots/ Urban Outfitters collar/ H&M hat

These tights are about 2 years old and I'm getting more use out of them now then ever before. The tiny rose detailing is gorgeous on them, but, they're only on one sock, I thought that was a little odd. But they're perfect anyways. Btw, this shirt was actually a mens shirt from Buffalo, in this amazing corduroy print, paired with a belt and it's as good as if it actually fit... I kind think putting a belt this low on my waist works well because it gives that dropped waist effect. I did it by accident by the way and loved it, some of the best ideas come from the worst mistakes....
