Iridescence

wearing: asos top, sheinside pants, h&m shoes

Whenever I don't want to be uncomfortable throughout the day these sweatpants always are the ones to pop right into my head. Unfortunately they are sold out but if they weren't, I'd kill for them in a dark grey color. And yes, I do consider these sweatpants; in my book drawstrings mean sweatpants.
To go along with them I put on this iridescent blue button up from Asos, which is most likely Webster's dictionary definition of cool. As corny as that sounds, it's true, mostly because I've yet to find a shirt similar at any other place, now that's a rarity. I guess it's safe to say that my go-to convenient outfit would be leather patched sweatpants and an awesome button up.

Tomboy Snaggin'

Wearing: Urban Outfitters shirt and jeans, Topshop shoes, Nordstrom jacket

I'm not going to lie, my heart skipped a significant beat when I saw these shoes pop up on Topshop's website. I've done countless Google searches on these Celine-like Vans that are were impossible to find besides the ridiculously priced Rag & Bones (which I am hopelessly in love with), my only objection is that I wish the soles were a tad bit thicker but that is not a complaint. Any human who complains about $35 ponyhair Vans at the moment is insane. These jeans are also a favorite of mine, such a great pair of patchwork boyfriend jeans that'll work with any simple top; despite the fact that this outfit's top is not near the likes of the term "simple".
Have a great weekend lovely's.

Out of the Blue

Wearing: Asos loafers, Free People socks, Forever 21 pants, kimono & button up

Something about the blue in my outfit contrasting with the yellow taxis in the background make these photos just that more engaging. Citi bikes and taxis= "typical NYC" in my head. These photos were taken by the lovely Sabrina of DreamInspireDesire. I met Sabrina through HerCampus, we are both high school ambassadors for the program and not so ironically we both take classes at FIT on Saturdays; a perfect chance for some outfit-photo taking. I am planning on doing a formal post on HerCampus soon once I get settled into the program. Anyways, be sure to check out Sabrina's blog, not only does she have great style but she's an amazing photographer!
I went for a relaxed look yesterday by making my favorite pair of denim trousers the base and working from there. Often my "strategy" to formulating outfits is to start with a "base piece" and "pair from there". I'm considering also making a  post about this because I frequently get asked "how do you pick out your outfits?" and I feel a bit uncomfortable explaining my tedious procedure to strangers.

Lets Go Down to the Tennis Courts

Wearing: American Apparel skirt, top thrifted from Buffalo Exchange, Aritzia hooded top, Topshop boots, UO bag

...and talk it up like yeah, yeah. I don't think there could be a more perfect title for this outfit, my favorite song and skirt at the moment in one title, what can be better then that? Luckily because of this tease for summer I was able to wear this skirt without any goosebumps throughout the day. I paired it with a mesh crop top over a hooded top that is the most ideal piece for layering, I love how the hood peeks out from the back.
Before I forget, I can't go without mentioning these shoes. I've been eyeing these shoes on Topshop for quite some time and actually ordered them at one point... but returned them... I don't know what was going through my head at the moment. Despite that, I tried them out for a second time and I couldn't wish for a better fall shoe...
