Styling Trick: Layering Turtlenecks Under Everthing

Wearing: Zara jumpsuit, Garage Clothing turtleneck, Topshop vest, ASOS boots, American Apparel belt

Run into me on the streets and I bet you 9 times out of 10 I'll be wearing a turtleneck underneath something.... whether it be a dress, sweater, or in this case, a jumpsuit. This trend is an ingenious layering technique to keep warm while also looking extremely fashion forward (I hate using that term but it seemed best fitting in this context). Below are some pictures I found online from editorials and runways that featured this trend. Your favorite dress or tank from spring can totally be used in January's frigid temperatures now!

Lust List: August

Lust List: August

Here's a quick back to school lust list. With school starting up soon I wanted to show the items I'm dying to get my hands on for long schooldays (and manage to get me somewhat motivated to go to school). Some of these things include a Daniel Wellington watch (which you've probably seen all over your insta feed), Adidas originals, comfy loafers, great pairs of jeans (both mom and skinny) and some awesome chokers. Oh, and I can't forget about a Mansur Gavriel bucket bag (which is not really great for school but whatever). That one might have to wait until the holiday season!

Get the 30's look: Curley's Wife

of mice and men: curley's wife
The thing about wearing dresses from previous decades such as the flapper dress, shift dress, knee-legnth dress, etc. is that they are timeless. No matter what the "in" silhouette is at fast fashion retailers one can always resort to the classic aesthetic of decade-associated dresses. After seeing the play Of Mice and Men this weekend starring one of the ubiquitous Franco brothers, James, and Gossip Girl star, Leighton Meester I couldn't help but take notice of Leighton, or should I say Curley's wife's, dresses. What I found most astonishing was the fact that the character, in the book and play, is perceived as a promiscuous woman whilst wearing an ankle-length dress. If only those migrant workers saw what women wear today... Nonetheless I genuinely adored Leighton's character's choice of dress and thought about how women of today would put their own spin on the 30's silhouette. A pinstriped, collared, and buckled dress about a foot shorter than the original paired would oxford heels would be the modern version of Curley's wife's look.

Holiday Wish-list

Christmas Wish-list

Here it is, the holiday wish-list. Personally I see the holiday wish-list as somewhat of a mandatory post/video for bloggers and YouTuber's alike. Wish-list's give a glimpse of what a person is lusting over if, say, money was unlimited. However, I have to say that my wish-list this year is quite realistic.

1. I'm always on the hunt for a new purse. Though a Wang or Saint Laurent is a bit unrealistic right now, I still managed to find some great bags. On the left is a generously roomy shoulder bag with a folder over flap from Asos, ideal for when the inner Mary Poppins comes out in me and I feel the need to stuff my life in a bag. On the right is a small satchel from Zara in my favorite color at the moment, navy, great for when I don't feel like carrying something gigantic.
2. Marc Jacobs Honey perfume, just when my Dot perfume becomes old news for me there is always another one waiting for me to buy it.
3. Lets just say I don't have the best luck when it comes to flat irons. I've had flat irons in silver, blue, heck, even bedazzled but, I haven't had one that I have been impressed with; and that's all that matters, right?
4. Probably at the top of my list is a new lens, I'm hoping for the Nikkor 50 mm 1.8 g (the perfect lens for outfit photos)! Get ready for some amazing photos!
5. When Alexa Chung and Leandra Medine, aka my favorite people on the planet, both write books it is pretty much necessary for them to be in my possession.
6. I have heard great things about Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and this mini lip tar set is the perfect way to try the brand out.
7. I am a girl who can never have too many watches. A color still missing from my watch collection is black, this one from Casio has a sporty feel but it still has that cool retro vibe all of Casio's watches have.
8. A set studio lights along with a setup would be wonderful for future videos and photos!

In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb: Nordstrom Savvy

In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb: Nordstrom Savvy

For those of you live near a Nordstrom that carries their new Savvy line, I wouldn't be surprised if your affinity for every item in it is as strong as mine. The line is intended to be a mix of the BP department and the contemporary department, with their prices in the middle also. The line is for the fashion forward girl who wants her trends now. Mostly the H&M, Forever 21, fast fashion shopper. Between my desire for spring and this new line, I'm about to burst if the weather doesn't change and I don't get my hands on some of these pieces. These are just some looks I threw together for spring from the line that I'd kill to wear.
